Godalming loves a local market, and each Friday you can buy local produce in the fruit and veg market, whilst the last Saturday of each month, hosts a thriving farmers’ market. You can buy quality produce straight from the people that make it and hear all about the provenance of the goods. Amazing quality, variety and all good value for money.
Families flock to Godalming for its beautiful parks, delightful walks along the River Wey and one of the many family friendly summer events. From May to September there is free music concert at the bandstand for all ages to enjoy and while away a sunny Sunday afternoon.
There are many good and outstanding primary schools, and it is also home to the prestigious Charterhouse School.
Godalming has many wonderful pubs in and around the area. One of our favourites is the Stag on the River, with a fantastic menu and a lovely setting on the river.
Finally, no trip to Godalming would be complete without a trip to the nearby Winkworth Arboretum, a National Trust area of woodland. It is a beautiful day out any time of the year but we’d recommend not missing the blooming bluebells in Spring.
